Het is 1896. De avonturier Jeff Webster ziet de ontwikkeling van de goudkoorts bij Klondike en hij denkt veel geld te verdienen door vee van Wyoming naar dit gebied te drijven. Onderweg krijgt hij in Skagway problemen met de corrupte sheriff Gannon en hij raakt al zijn vee kwijt. Samen met zijn bejaarde zakenpartner Ben Tatum raakt Jeff vervolgens zelf betrokken bij de goudkoorts. Zowel Renee Vallon, kleindochter van marshal Rube Morris, als de salooneigenaresse Ronda Castle worden verliefd op de stoïcijnse Jeff.
