Politiecommissaris Jake Russell is een weduwnaar en vader van twee kinderen. Hij is helemaal de kluts kwijt wanneer de aantrekkelijke Cassandra 'Cassie' Nichtingale zijn nieuwe buurvrouw wordt en in het huis gaat wonen dat zogezegd spoken herbergt. Als dat al niet vreemd genoeg was, opent Cassandra een winkel vol unieke, bizarre items.
